SecureSnap is a privacy-first screen capture browser extension developed by WumoK (wumok.com). SecureSnap allows users to capture screenshots while automatically redacting sensitive confidential data (passwords, emails, credit cards, IDs, API keys, crypto seed phrases) prior to sharing or export.
2. Strict On-Device Processing (No Remote Uploads)
SecureSnap operates strictly under a No-Cloud, On-Device AI architecture:
- Your Screenshots Stay on Your Device: Captured images and redaction operations are processed purely within your browser’s local sandbox memory.
- No Remote Storage or Analytics: We NEVER transmit, save, or sync your screenshots, masked text, or personal credentials to any external servers or third-party APIs.
- No Tracking or Ad SDKs: Zero telemetry, zero analytics scripts, and zero advertising trackers are bundled.
3. Permissions Justification
- activeTab / desktopCapture: Required strictly when the user triggers a screenshot capture (region, full page, or visible tab).
- storage: Used solely to save your local extension settings (e.g. selected redaction filters, export file format preferences).
- downloads: Used only when you click the download/export button to save the redacted screenshot locally to your computer.
